"Knights Templar" Add-On Sneak Peek: Servientes Armorum, or Sergeants
over 6 years ago – Fri, Sep 14, 2018 at 11:06:24 PM

"The order of the Temple was at this period divided into the three great classes of knights, priests, and serving brethren, all bound together by their vow of obedience to the Master of the Temple at Jerusalem, the chief of the entire fraternity. Every candidate for admission into the first class must have received the honour of knighthood in due form, according to the laws of chivalry, before he could be admitted to the vows; and as no person of low degree could be advanced to the honours of knighthood, the brethren of the first class, i. e. the Knights Templars, were all men of noble birth and of high courage. Previous to the council of Troyes, the order consisted of knights only, but the rule framed by the holy fathers enjoins the admission of esquires and retainers to the vows, in the following terms. Hence arose the great class of serving brethren, (fratres servientes,) who attended the knights into the field both on foot and on horseback, and added vastly to the power and military reputation of the order.

The serving brethren were armed with bows, bills, and swords; it was their duty to be always near the person of the knight, to supply him with fresh weapons or a fresh horse in case of need, and to render him every succour in the affray. The esquires of the knights were generally serving brethren of the order, but the services of secular persons might be accepted."

Meister of Engines Amenity Highlight
over 6 years ago – Tue, Sep 11, 2018 at 01:09:27 AM

Meister of Engines
Meister of Engines

Meister Fritz is the only person who can do the math and fix a broken Siege Engine. His uniqueness and utter importance made him immune to most of the disciplinary measures, which inevitably led poor engineer to the common fate of many misconceived and underestimated geniuses - the unrestrained alcoholism in a company of his only drinking buddy, another untouchable specialist of advanced warfare: Frater Ortolanus the Alchemist.

Flip this Amenity token to repair any damaged siege machine instantly and let good old Fritz have his hard-earned leisure.

Meister never drinks alone, so flip Frater Ortolanus the Alchemist Amenity token every time you flip Fritz.

In turn, Frater Ortolanus is always happy to reciprocate, so flip Meister Fritz token every time you flip the Alchemist Amenity.

Flip both the Alchemist and the Engineer tokens whenever the Baccatio Divine Will Card is being played, and even the Pillory Amenity won't help you here: learned men are too rare and precious to be a subject to corporal penalty.

Bishop The Cat Double-Tap Highlight
over 6 years ago – Sat, Sep 08, 2018 at 08:11:30 PM

It is a very special Caturday today, for we're presenting you a Double-Tap improvement for the cutest Amenity of "Deus Lo Vult" - Bishop the Cat! You've already seen him in leisure, and now it is time for an action!

Bishop is on his own Crusade against the infidel Saracenian rodents. Whenever the Rati Divine Will Card is played, each player has to discard up to three coins for rat-eaten provisions. But not in the blessed camp that Bishop patronizes! Just tap the Bishop, and he'll take care of those pesky pests and keep your belongings intact. Bishop the Cat has an ancient feud with Sultan the Dog (you'll meet him later this week), so you have to tap him whenever Sultan the Dog token is being untapped after use, for Bishop hates him and leaves the premises at once. But, in return, you can untap Bishop for free whenever Sultan token is tapped anywhere on the map.
