Why not use plastic miniatures for armies instead of tokens?
If God wills, we will make a special edition with miniatures based on medieval chess pieces. We love them too. But for now we will stay with the charm of handwritten miniatures on a yellowed parchment.

Did you take those miniatures from an illuminated manuscript, or do you draw them yourselves?
Our artist, Alex, draws them by hand. But absolutely, the primary inspiration source for the art style is the Grandes Chroniques de France, with its incredible hand-drawn miniatures and geometric ornaments.

How will worldwide shipping be handled?
Everything will be shipped to the USA from the factory and then shipped to your location from there. If there are enough backers from a particular location, then we will look at ways to get the games inside of the country first and then ship from there, but that is unlikely.

We’ve marked the game as 14+ for two reasons: One, it’s the age that classifies Deus lo Vult as a game instead of a toy for EU importation. Two, the game is filled with illuminated medieval “cartoon violence.”

Is there anything else we should know?
We prefer to ship to addresses where someone can personally receive the game during the day, whether it’s at work, at home, a friend, or at a neighbor’s. The point of this is to prevent theft due to a package sitting on someone’s front porch all day.

How long does it take to play one round in the Deus lo Vult?
You can get the general idea of the game pace by watching one of our game stream videos, but we can tell you that one round (which is a plundering of 4 City Quarters) usually takes about 30-40 minutes. This duration is more or less the same for any number of players, for each player has 12 moves in 2p game, 8 in 3p game and 6 in 4p game.

What is BackerKit?

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
